What is CrossFit?

CrossFit in an international fitness phenomenon that has taken the world by storm. It emphasizes functional movements that can help an individual become more proficient at tasks ranging from putting a child in a carseat all the way to making them a better firefighter or soldier. Specifically, CrossFit is a deliberate attempt to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.

CrossFit is accessible to all experience levels and abilities. At CrossFit Swift Current, our goal is to foster a supportive environment with top quality instruction. We vow to emphasize proper mechanics and safety in order to build well rounded physical skill sets among our members. We guarantee CrossFit Swift Current members will develop a strong sense of camaraderie and have a whole lot of fun!

Membership Options:

“The Newbie”

  • for anyone new to CrossFit
  • $297
  • includes all 4 foundational movement classes
  • includes “The Unlimited” 3 month membership
  • includes an Initial Nutrition Assessment with our registered dietitian

“The Unlimited” 

  • $150/month
  • allows you unlimited access to all CrossFit classes, CrossFit special interest programming, and all “open gym” times
  • paid month to month with no contract obligations

“The Part Time” 

  • $99/month
  • allows you access to a maximum of 10 CrossFit classes and/or CrossFit special interest programming sessions per month, and all “open gym” times
  • paid month to month with no contract obligations

“The Student”

  • Unlimited Monthly Option $85
  • Unlimited Weekly Option $30
  • Reduced Rate for 4 Foundational Movement Classes ($49)
  • Must be 16 years or older and have a valid student ID (high school or post-secondary)

Foundational Movements (four sessions)

  • $75
  • Must be completed prior to beginning your CrossFit membership. These sessions are an opportunity to learn and practice the foundational skills of CrossFit so that you can join the classes safely. Read more below.

Package Options for Current Members:

“The Three”

  • a 3 month Part Time or Unlimited membership at 5% discount from regular rates

“The Six”

  • a 6 month Part Time or Unlimited membership at 10% discount from regular rates

“The Twelve”

  • a One year Part Time or Unlimited membership at 15% discount from regular rates

Drop In Classes (for those with CrossFit experience) $15

Drop In Open Gym $5

Drop In Open Gym Weekly Rate $20

Schedule:

CrossFit Classes:

Monday – Friday: 

  • 6am
  • 9am
  • 6pm
  • 8pm

Monday/Wednesday/Friday:

  • 7pm

Saturdays and Sundays: (*every other weekend, we also run a 10 am class both days*)

  • 9am

CrossFit Special Intrest Programming:

“Foundational Movements” – Tuesdays & Thursdays at 7pm

  • Active members can use this time to come in and work independently or are free to join the group of newbies (aka prospective members) as they practice their skills in one of the 4 foundational movement sessions required to become members – squats, presses, gymnastics, and deadlifts.

“Bring a Friend” – variable

  • All CrossFit Swift Current members are invited to bring a non-member friend to this fun CrossFit class. We have 2 requirements: 1) your friend should be 16 years or older and 2) they should be at any skill level whatsoever (and yes, “none” counts as a perfectly acceptable skill level). Bring your party pants and see what we’re all about!
  • These classes are variable and will be advertised in advance. Keep checking back for upcoming dates/times.

Open Gym:

Monday:

  • 12 – 1:30pm
  • 2:30 – 5pm

Tuesday:

  • 10am – 5pm

Wednesday:

  • 12 – 1:30pm
  • 2:30 – 5pm

Thursday:

  • 10 am – 5 pm

Friday:

  • 12 – 1:30pm
  • 2:30 – 5pm

Other good stuff to know:

  • Prior to beginning your CrossFit membership, you must complete each of the four foundational movement classes (formerly “on-ramp”). These are technique classes to ensure your understanding and safety in specific movements to ensure seamless integration into the regular CrossFit classes. More specifically, these sessions are: squats, deadlifts, presses & gymnastics.
  • To keep class size small (8 per class), we ask each member to reserve their spots in the class times of their choice by calling STRIDE at 306.778.7770 or through our online booking.
  • CrossFit Swift Current has a rad new logo and new merch (unisex t-shirts and women’s tanks) for purchase. Come down and check them out!
